10 Nov Water Soluble Hemp Represents a Real Breakthrough
Why is water-soluble hemp getting so much attention? Simple – it dramatically enhances the bioavailability of CBD.
It’s no secret, water is essential to the human body – to all life on Earth even. In fact, your body is mostly made up of water, right?
“Up to 60% of the human adult body is water,” the U.S. Geological Survey tells us. “According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.”
Well, unfortunately, in its natural state, CBD is an oil. Do you see where we’re going here? That’s right – oil and water don’t mix.
Water and Oil Don’t Mix, Unless…
Most CBD products fail to deliver on the real promise of CBD because your body is only able to absorb a fraction of the active ingredient in them.
“Tests have shown that at best 15-20%, but on average only 5-10% of the CBD oil we take orally is ultimately being absorbed. A staggering 80-95% of the CBD oil you consume, your body will never use,” Health Europa reports.
There is an exception to the rule, however. As the folks at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) put it, emulsions are when oil and water DO mix.
“An emulsion is a temporarily stable mixture of immiscible fluids, such as oil and water, achieved by finely dividing one phase into very small droplets,” the IFT explains. “Common emulsions can be oil suspended in water or aqueous phase (o/w) or water suspended in oil.”
So, the ability to develop a water oil emulsion will allow your body to absorb more of the beneficial components of CBD. Of course, most CBD manufacturers don’t have emulsification equipment. .
